VAIL, Colo. — All lanes of Interstate 70 will close around Vail for about two hours Tuesday afternoon to remove a jackknifed semi in the median.
Starting at 12:30 p.m., all lanes between exit 176 and exit 173 on I-70 will temporarily close.
The Vail Police Department said the westbound lanes will close at the 176 exit and the eastbound lanes will close at the 173 exit.
Drivers headed west will need to exit at 176 and take the north frontage road to the 173 ramp. The eastbound traffic will need to exit at 173 and take the south frontage road to 176.
The closure is required to safely remove a jackknifed semi that is in the median of the interstate at the 174 milemarker, police said.
Vail police said the closure is expected to last two hours.
