LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A newly hired driving instructor was cited after they crashed their car into a driving school in Lakewood Tuesday morning.
It happened at Community Driving School, located at 2099 Wadsworth Boulevard.
The Lakewood Police Department said several people were able to dive out of harm's way. There was only one minor injury, according to Lakewood police.
According to Steve Rohman, owner of Community Driving School, it was the driver's second day on the job. They were coming in for training on the classroom portion of the course when they crashed into the building.
The driver was in their personal vehicle, not an instruction vehicle, at the time of the crash, according to Rohman.
Rohman said the driver is no longer employed at Community Driving School.
The business owner emphasized that the safety of students and instructors is "paramount."
