DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. -- An illegal turn is apparently to blame for making thousands of people who drive Interstate 25 late to work, and other places, Thursday morning.
The Colorado State Patrol started getting reports about a crash on Interstate 25, near Plum Creek Parkway, around 6:30 a.m.
Troopers said the first collision involved multiple vehicles. Then troopers found more than one crash.

In addition to those tickets, the Colorado State Patrol said it found one driver with an arrest warrant and another driver who was driving without a license after a DUI.

Investigators believe one of the crashes was caused by a driver making an illegal turn from northbound I-25 to southbound I-25. Troopers believe the driver used the emergency vehicle turnaround in the median of the highway.
