HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — A woman was found shot and killed in a vehicle in Highlands Ranch and police were initially searching for an unknown suspect, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday.
In a tweet, police said a homicide investigation was underway for a ‘possible unknown suspect that may be dangerous’ in an area near Park Central Drive and Lucent.

Later on Saturday, the sheriff's office said a male suspect was found deceased and there was no further threat to the public. The victim and suspect knew each other, according to investigators.
On Monday, the Douglas County Coroner’s Office identified Jamie Sullivan, 49, of Highlands Ranch, as the woman found dead in her vehicle. The coroner's office identified Art Valentine, 55, as a man who was found deceased "in an associated case," though it was not made clear if he was the suspect police were searching for Saturday.
