BOULDER, Colo. — Search and rescue crews conducting a search in northern Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park for a 38-year-old man who failed to return from a day hike nearly a week ago found no sign of the man after a day's search on Friday.

The Daily Camera reports that Brian J. Perri, of Fort Collins, was reported missing Thursday.

He was scheduled to go day hiking last Saturday and sent a photo to a friend of himself at the summit of Mount Meeker. He did not have a tent or camping equipment.

Rangers found Perri's car in the parking lot at the Sandbeach Lake Trailhead on Thursday night and conducted a brief aerial search near the summit of Mount Meeker.

Rescue crews began ground search efforts Friday, concentrating on the summit of Mount Meeker and the ridge lines extending off the mountain.

Search efforts will be begin again early on Saturday, a spokesperson for Rocky Mountain National Park said in an evening update.
