CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- The Helping Hands Outreach Project plans to renovate a family's home later this month and they need volunteers and donations to make the project a reality.
"We choose a recipient in the community who is need, we go in as a group, and rehabilitate their home," explained the project's co-chair, Michelle Hayes. "There's almost nothing we can't do -- replacement flooring, new appliances, painting, new roof, yard work."
This year's recipient is a retired widower with COPD and two children, one with cerebral palsy and one with diabetes.
"We need money to do as much as we can for these folks, we need hands to help with labor during the project," Hayes said.
The renovation work will take place July 27 and 28.
