THORNTON, Colo. – Fire crews and air tankers were able to contain a grass fire that sparked Friday afternoon near 136th and Quebec.
Thornton Fire originally said structures were threatened in a nearby neighborhood. Its crews, as well as North Metro Fire, US Forestry crews and an air tanker from Fort Collins were called to the fire.
The fire caused no injuries and was mostly contained by 5:15 p.m., according to Thornton Fire. Thornton and North Metro Fire crews will stay on scene to monitor hot spots through the evening.

Thornton and North Metro wildland crews will remain on scene probably through the night watching hot spots and performing fire watch duties.
