BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. – A 6-year-old girl was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after she fell approximately 40 feet off a chairlift at Eldora Mountain Resort.

The girl fell off the Sundance lift at Eldora. Ski patrollers that responded immediately found her conscious and breathing, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday afternoon.

She was brought to a first aid room, where paramedics started treating her for possible injuries to her pelvis and other lower extremities. The girl, who has not been identified, was then driven by ambulance to the Boulder Community Hospital.

The sheriff’s office says it and the resort are investigating the girl’s fall.

This is the second time this month a child has fallen from a chairlift at a Colorado ski resort. On Feb. 13, a 9-year-old Aspen boy fell 31 feet off a chairlift at Aspen Highlands. The boy was treated and released from an area hospital.
