FORT COLLINS, Colo. – How’s this for a holiday surprise?

A Fort Collins man is $3 million richer after winning the top prize in a brand new lottery game.

The Colorado Lottery said Steven W. bought a Bankroll Blast ticket on Tuesday at Schrader’s Country Store on College Avenue. It was the very first ticket for the new $50 scratch-off game, according to lottery officials.

Officials said Steven showed up “a little stunned and a lot skeptical” when he went to claim his $3 million prize.

Steven says he’s planning to use his winnings to retire early from his job at a bottle manufacturing plant.

The lottery said there are still two $3 million top prizes left.
