Friends of Colorado girl killed in house fire on Easter Sunday gather at Red Rocks for vigil

MORRISON, Colo. -- Heritage High School student Lexi Hester died in a house fire on Easter Sunday.

Dozens of her friends gathered at Red Rocks Amphitheatre for a vigil where they released yellow balloons in the air, in her honor.

Skylar Tucci was one of dozens of friends that came to celebrate Hester’s life.

“It hurts. I just keep telling myself that it isn’t real and that she’s not gone. I don’t want to bring myself to say that she’s actually gone,” said Tucci.

Hester was a lacrosse player and friends with many at several different high schools. She was known to always be up for a concert.

“She was just a loving person, filled with kindness. And just made life an adventure. Like she just never ceased to disappoint in doing something fun,” said friend Devin Hovis.

Friends have set up a fundraising page that has raised close to $15,000 as of Wednesday night.
