FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Fort Collins Police Department has cleared the scene following a suspicious package investigation at the Federal Building Friday.
Around 5:30 p.m., the department issued a tweet, saying officers were investigating a suspicious package at 301 South Howes Street.
We are currently investigating a suspicious package at the Federal Building/Post office at 301 S Howes. Roadways around the building are currently blocked. Will tweet updates when available. Please avoid the area for the time being.

The Northern Colorado Bomb Squad determined the package and its contents are not dangerous, according to Fort Collins police.
Police are working to reopen surrounding roadways.
Nearby residents were placed under a shelter-in-place, which has since been lifted.
