FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The Larimer County Sheriff's Office arrested a Fort Collins man suspected of attempting to assault a woman with a weapon inside her home Friday morning.
Investigators said a 911 call came in around 4:15 a.m. that a man was attempting to assault a woman inside a home in the 500 block of North Frey Avenue in Fort Collins. Two other men intervened, and the suspect threatened them with a handgun.
By the time deputies arrived, the suspect was already gone, but around 5 a.m. he was spotted in a nearby field and taken into custody.
Investigators identified the man as Joseph Baca, 28. He's facing charges of possession of a dangerous weapon by a previous offender, possession of a weapon under the influence and two counts of menacing.
No one was hurt in the incident.
