COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Former President George W. Bush will appear at a Fort Carson job fair for Army troops who are leaving the service.

The Fort Carson Transition Summit runs Tuesday and Wednesday. It features workshops for troops seeking jobs in the civilian job market, and representatives of more than 100 companies offering jobs.

The Gazette reported Monday that Bush and Dakota Meyer, a Medal of Honor recipient, will speak at the event.

Bush has focused on helping veterans succeed in civilian life. Meyer is a Marine veteran honored for his service in Afghanistan.

The job fair is sponsored by Fort Carson, the Bush Institute and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
