CRAIG, Colo. — A former Craig Police officer is facing charges of misdemeanor child abuse and third-degree assault, court records confirm.
The Craig Daily Press reports Tracy Reneau, 30, was placed on administrative leave from the Craig Police Department on Aug. 2. The department is currently seeking applicants to fill her position.
Details of the case are not known. An attorney listed in her court records could not be reached for comment.
Craig Chief of Police Walt Vanatta told the Craig newspaper that officers should be held to a higher standard when it comes to criminal allegations.
The defendant is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 5.
