JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Firefighters are currently responding to a house fire along S. Yank Place in Lakewood.
The street is in a neighborhood between Green Mountain and Bear Creek Lake Park.
The fire was reported around 6:40 a.m. Wednesday.
West Metro Fire responded to the scene and said the fire began in the living room.
One person had non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital.
As of 7:25 a.m., the fire was out.
Around 10:30 a.m., West Metro Fire said the fire was caused by smoking materials.
Residents in the area may have seen a large smoke plume Wednesday morning.
Damage to the home was estimated at $300,000, West Metro Fire said.
