The FDA is warning pet owners that some flea and tick medicine could cause seizures and muscle tremors for dogs and cats.
The flea and tick medicines are in the isoxazoline class. Drugs in this class include Bravecto, Credelio, Nexgard and Simparica.
The FDA said it is working with the manufacturers of these medications to include new label information to highlight neurologic events, because these events were seen consistently across the class of products.
The FDA said owners whose pets are using these medications should consult their veterinarian.
