Englewood police investigate homicide along S. Platte River Drive; 3 men in bicycles wanted

UPDATE | Thursday 11 a.m. — The man found deceased along the 3100 block of S. Platte Drive on Tuesday evening has been identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office as Joseph Michael Hix, 32. He died of sharp force injuries and his manner of death was ruled a homicide.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Police in Englewood are searching for three men last seen in an area where a homicide occurred Tuesday evening.

The homicide took place at around 5:32 p.m. in the 3100 block of S. Platte Drive following an altercation, according to a crime bulletin alert issued by police Wednesday afternoon. A 32-year-old man who was not identified was declared dead as investigators combed the scene late into the night.

Investigators are now asking for the public's help in identifying and locating three men who were last seen on bicycles in the area before the altercation. They are considered persons of interest.

The police department is also seeking information and would like to speak with someone. who may have picked up a man in the 1500 block of W. Hampden Avenue shortly after crime occurred, they said.
