DENVER -- As Elitch Gardens builds a new office closer to its downtown amusement park, top officials with the company are solidifying their commitment to the park's current locations.

There's been no shortage of rumors and speculation surrounding the future of Elitch's downtown site. The amusement park is located on what is now prime real estate, prompting conversations about if it's the best use for that land.

The owners of Elitch Gardens, Revesco Properties, told Denver7 they're committed to downtown Denver. President and CEO, Rhys Duggan, said, "I think the park is successful where it is. We continue to add attractions and the park will be there for the foreseeable future."

The company is building a brand new three-story office building on the other side of I-25 near the park. Construction is underway for the $3 million building located at 2721 17th Street. Rhys said they anticipate moving into the new building in August.

He denied any rumors involving Elitch's downtown location. He said, "We're not going anywhere."

Councilman Paul Lopez has been concerned about those rumors and hopes the park will stay where it's at.

"You have a city that's becoming more expensive by the day and it's concerning because you want to be able to keep something like Elitch's. You know families and young adults, kids they're running out of places to hang out," said Lopez.
