BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — A man involved in a fatal rollover crash in Boulder Canyon has struck a plea deal in which prosecutors dropped first-degree murder and attempted murder charges.
The Daily Camera reported Thursday (https://goo.gl/4x4M8h ) that 38-year-old Kelley Wiggins pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and child abuse for the Aug. 4, 2015, crash that killed his 21-year-old passenger Alexus Valentin, of Boulder. Four other people, including Wiggins and a 1-year-old child, were hospitalized.
Investigators say Wiggins' girlfriend at the time, who also was a passenger in the car, said that when he found out Valentin had died, he said "good," and added that Valentin "needed to be eliminated."
The girlfriend also said Wiggins told her that a passenger in the front seat who survived "needed to be dead" because Wiggins did not like him flirting with her.
