DENVER -- Thursday is Domestic Violence Awareness Day. If you, or a loved one, is experiencing domestic violence, there is help.

If you are in a crisis or need immediate help, dial 911 or call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233.

Safehouse Denver has a 24-hour crisis line, which can be reached by calling 303-318-9989.

Violence Free Colorado has a list of resources by region of the state.

The Rose Andom Center in Denver offers a variety of services for victims, including counseling, protection orders, legal issues, safety planning and more.

"The idea is to make it easier for victims to find resources," said Margaret Abrams, the executive director of the Rose Andom Center.

The organization brings together multiple agencies under one roof.

"So, a victim doesn't have to struggle to figure out where to go, or who to talk to, or set up multiple appointments all over town for herself, or her children," Abrams said.
