The Adams County Sheriff's Office is investigating a "suspicious" incident where a couple in a van asked a middle school student if he wanted a ride on Thursday.
The boy was walking in the 7800 block of Zuni Street about 8:30 a.m. on his way to Ranum Middle School when a man and a woman in a green minivan pulled up to him.
The couple asked the boy if he wanted a ride, and he declined and kept walking to school, sheriff's office spokesman Sgt. Aaron Pataluna said on Friday. The van turned around and passed the student, again, then left eastbound from the area.
The vehicle is believed to be an early-2000s model green Chevy Venture. Sheriff's officials released a generic photograph of that type of van.
Pataluna said the boy could only describe the couple as a heavy-set Hispanic woman with shoulder-length hair, and a Hispanic man.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who witnessed this incident or may have any information about the van or its occupants to call the sheriff’s office at 303-288-1535.
