DENVER – If your yard could use a little foliage, you’ll want to check out the annual Earth Day tree sale in Denver this weekend.
The sale, put on by the nonprofit The Park People, runs from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at the City Park greenhouse and at Sloans Lake Park.
The sale will include a selection of fruit tree varieties and other trees that are meant to be planted in yards around town (not along the street – that requires an inspection and permit).
Varieties for sale include Honeycrisp apple, Stanley plum, Montmorency cherry, Anjou pear and others.
Prices are $45 for bareroot trees and $65 for balled and burlapped trees and payments can be made with cash or check only.
