DENVER — Shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday, a suspect who had been hiding in his home along S. Perry Street since 6:30 a.m. was taken into custody.
Denver police responded to a call for shots fired at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. Nobody was injured, police said. The suspect from that call that ran into his house. He was believed to have been armed, police said.
The police department tweeted at 3:45 p.m. that they were still working to get the man out of the house, which was along the 900 block of S. Perry Street.
Residents in the area were asked to shelter in place. Nearby schools were notified.
About 12 hours later, around 7:10 p.m., the man was taken into custody. No injuries were reported. One man was arrested and is being held for investigation of felony menacing, police said.
