DENVER – The Mile High City is one of the country’s top winter travel destinations, but you probably already knew that.
However, it's not the best, according to WalletHub.
Denver was ranked 10th on WalletHub’s list of “2017’s Best Winter Holiday Destinations.”
If proximity to ski resorts and other winter activities were the only factor the site looked at, Denver would probably come in first, but WalletHub’s analysis included a range of different characteristics, including ease and cost of travel, nearby attractions, weather and safety.
Based on those factors, Chicago, Illinois came in first place, followed by Portland, Oregon and Washington, DC.
1. Chicago, IL
2. Portland, OR
3. Washington, DC
4. Pittsburgh, PA
5. New York, NY
6. Seattle, WA
7. Minneapolis, MN
8. Philadelphia, PA
9. Boston, MA
10. Denver, CO
WalletHub also ranked the top warm weather destinations. Orlando, Florida came in at number one on that list.
