DENVER — Video shared on Facebook showing a driver strike and hit a flock of geese, killing one the animals, has led to a citation for the driver, a Denver Dept of Public Health & Environment spokesperson said Wednesday.
The video, posted by Grant W. on Facebook, shows the unidentified male driver run down a flock of geese in the 3900 block of West Quincy Place in Denver Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect did not appear to try to stop as he approached a the geese crossing the roadway. The collision resulted in the death of one of the birds, according to the Denver official. No other geese were harmed or killed.
After the video was posted on social media, an animal protection officer located the suspect and cited the man for animal cruelty. His name has not been released.
The department spokesperson said all animal cruelty cases are reviewed by the state, so more charges could be filed in the case.
