DENVER — A new map will help cyclists find a low-stress place to ride in Denver.

The Denver Bike Streets map features 400 miles of neighborhood streets and routes.

"We're hoping to accelerate the transformation of the way people get around in Denver to a post-carbon reality," epxlained Bike Streets founder Avi Stopper.

His group wants to "get more people on bikes — for personal health, community healthy and planetary health."

The Bike Streets map is available online and at more than 100 businesses.

Bike Streets is also hosting a free, community bike ride on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.

"We're going to leave from Denver Beer Company on Platte, ride around Berkeley Lake Park and back, and have a beer afterwards," Stopper said.

The ride is about 10 miles, but Stopper promised it will be a quiet, slow roll. He said they'll make sure everyone stays together and will ride at a "social, conversational pace."

"We're encouraging and inviting everyone no matter their of age, background or ability on bike, to get out and ride with us," Stopper said.
