Denver police said the victim was struck by multiple vehicles. Initially, police said one of those vehicles did not stay on scene, but on Thursday, the department said they are no longer seeking another vehicle.
Police said they believe the deceased person opened the car door and "let himself out while traveling at a high rate of speed."
Traffic on I-25 was diverted for several hours, but the interstate has since reopened. An investigation is underway.
