Dayle's Veil: Denver7's Dayle Cedars is engaged!

I am SO excited I'm getting married and cannot wait to share this experience with you. I’ve now worked at Denver7 for more than 13 years, so the viewers are like family to me. That's why we thought it would be fun to blog about the wedding planning process. And yes, it is definitely a process!

Before we get to all the details, lets go back in time and talk about how we — my fiance and I — got here!

I was introduced to my now-fiance, Chuck McDaniel, through my cousin... well, sort of. She and her husband are friends of friends of Chuck's. The friends conspired and decided Chuck and I needed to meet. So we had our first date — a blind date, I guess you could say. Although, since I am on television, it was easy for Chuck to find out a LOT of information about me ahead of time. Fortunately, I also could get some information on Chuck because of his work in Denver's business and philanthropic communities.

We went to Oceanaire and spent four hours in a booth talking and laughing. I knew at that moment this was a guy I needed to see again. There were many more dinners, events, etc. After a few months, we started talking about marriage. Both of us have been married before. Both of us have children. The plus side of having been through divorce and then dating again as an adult is that you know what you want — and what you don’t want! We both knew what we have together is exactly what we have been looking for and want for the rest of our lives.

So, that’s how we got here. Stay tuned, because I will have questions and will need your help with some of the planning!
