THORNTON, Colo. — A Colorado State Patrol trooper was responding to a call for assistance early Monday morning when his patrol car was hit by a suspected DUI driver.
CSP Trooper Josh Lewis said the crash occurred on northbound Interstate 25 near 84th Avenue around 1:08 a.m.
The trooper was inside his vehicle when it was hit by a 2008 Suzuki Hatchback, he said. The trooper had minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital. He has since been released.
Authorities have not released information on the driver of the Suzuki, or said if they will face charges.
