Critically injured deputy Bill Foreman returns to work

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. -- An Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office deputy critically injured in the line of duty last year went back to work on Thursday.

Bill Foreman, Jr., was following an ambulance through a green light to a homicide scene in February 2016 when he was hit by a pickup truck on Iliff at South Valentia Street, officials said.

The impact spun the deputy's car and it landed on a nearby sidewalk. Foreman had to be cut out of his car.

He spent 17 days in the Intensive Care Unit. There were blood drives and a fundraiser to help his family.

Foreman was hospitalized for weeks, then had to go through rehab.

Thursday, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office told Denver7 that Foreman has returned to work. He's being assigned to light duty responsibilities for now.
