Sick of pet hair everywhere?
Consumer Reports tested vacuums to see which products really pick up pet hair.
According to Consumer Reports, "technicians take 5 grams of long, feathery fur from Maine Coon cats and scatter, stomp, and smash it into medium-pile carpet. Then they make multiple passes with the test vacuum to see how much of the hair it picks up."
They tested the vacuums on carpet and bare floor. They also tested stick vacuums and handheld vacuums, but with less hair, since the vacuums are smaller.
So, what did well?
When it comes to upright vacuums, the best were the Dyson Ball Animal 2, the Kenmore Pet Friendly Cross Over and Miele Dynamic U1 Cat & Dog.
In stick vacuum tests,. the best were the Bissell Air Ram 1984, Shark APEX DuoClean Corded ZS362 and Tineco Pure One S12.
