As work continues on the C-470 Express Lane project, construction crews have a few complete closures planned for several sections.
On Friday night, C-470 heading eastbound will be closed from Quebec to I-25. That closure will start at 9:30 p.m. and will last until 7:30 a.m.
That same section will be closed off during the same times the following Friday.
Crews will use that time to perform a two-part lane switch onto new pavement. Once it is complete, three lanes will be open to drivers heading eastbound.
This is all part of the $276 million project happening on a 12.5-mile stretch of the highway between Wadsworth Boulevard and I-25.
Once completed, the highway will feature two additional toll lanes heading westbound from I-25 to Colorado Boulevard. After that, it will drop down to one toll lane all the way up to Wadsworth Boulevard.
On the eastbound side, one toll lane will run from I-25 to Wadsworth.
For drivers who need a detour during the upcoming closures, here’s how you can get around it, according to CDOT:
- Eastbound C-470 to southbound and northbound I-25 detour: Take eastbound C-470 to the Quebec Street off-ramp. Turn left onto Quebec Street, to County Line Road, and turn right onto County Line Road to northbound/southbound I-25 on-ramps.
- Eastbound C-470 to northbound E-470 detour: Take eastbound C-470 to the Quebec Street off-ramp. Turn left onto Quebec Street to County Line Road, and turn right. Take County Line to Inverness Parkway. Take Inverness Parkway to Jamaica Street, and turn left onto Jamaica Street to northbound E-470 on-ramp.
One C-470 closure down, another one to go tonight. The highway will be completely closed from Quebec to I-25 heading eastbound tonight starting at 9:30 until tomorrow morning at 7:30. It's happening again next Friday at the same time. @DenverChannel @Denver7Traffic pic.twitter.com/WTCfdftJDl
