BOULDER, Colo. – Students at several Colorado schools plan to walk out of class Wednesday to show their support for gun ownership and the Second Amendment.

The walkouts are part of a nationwide event called “Stand for the 2nd,” in response to other walkouts in recent months that have called for tighter gun control.

According to the Stand for the 2nd website, students at about a dozen Colorado schools are organizing protests, including Fossil Ridge High School, Mead High School, Niwot High School, Arvada West High School, Cherry Creek High School, Green Mountain High School, Mountain Vista High School, Douglas County High School, Crested Butte Community School and Salida High School.

Most of the protests are happening at either 10 a.m. or 3 p.m.
