DENVER — Colorado has released its annual school ratings.

While more than 1,200 schools received the top rating for 2019, 154 schools received one of the two bottom ratings, putting them in jeopardy of facing state intervention.

The school rating is based on student achievement, growth on state tests, graduation rates and other factors.

While Colorado rates schools and districts on a four-level scale, the schools and districts aren't rated 1-4. They're rated on their current plan — Performance Plan, Improvement Plan, Priority Turnaround Plan and Turnaround Plan.

There's a fifth rating labeled as Insufficient State Data. That's for schools that have insufficient data because of low participation on state tests.

To see how your district or local school rated, click here for the Colorado Department of Education's website.

The districts and school information will appear in an Excel spreadsheet. It can be difficult to figure out where to click, so click here for school districts and click here for individual schools.
