Colorado issues advisory over unapproved pesticides found on some medical marijuana

Posted

DENVER – The Colorado Department of Revenue, the Colorado Department of Agriculture and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment have issued a health and safety advisory due to pesticide residue found on some medical marijuana products that may be unsafe.

The affected products include marijuana plant material and other products derived from marijuana cultivated by Crossroads Wellness LLC, which does business under the name Boulder Botanics.

The state said tests of sample products showed the presence of the pesticides bifenthrin and diuron, which are not on the list of pesticides approved for use on marijuana plants.

Products that tested positive include flower, trim, concentrates and infused products. The affected products should be returned to the dispensary where they were purchased.

Consumers can find out if their products are affected by checking the label on the container for a license and batch number. For a list of affected license and batch numbers, click here.
