1. It’s the Republicans’ turn
The Democratic candidates for Colorado governor debated the issues Monday evening at the University of Denver. Tuesday, the Republican candidates will take your questions. The debate is slated for 90 minutes: the first 60 minutes will air on Denver7 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will be streamed on TheDenverChannel.comDenver7’s Facebook pageDenverPost.com and the University of Denver’s website.

2. Threat of severe weather continues
Yesterday afternoon/evening were a bit stormy and we could see a repeat today. There will again be a threat of large hail and damaging winds Tuesday afternoon. The rain chances will be a little lower by Wednesday, with warmer temperatures and more widely scattered storms expected.

3. Trump administration defends "zero tolerance" immigration policy
Amid growing criticism from both sides the aisle, the Trump administration is defending the "zero tolerance" immigration policy that has resulted in thousands of children being separated from adults at the southern border and placed into detention facilities. Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper signed an executive order stating that no state resources could be used to separate children from their parents based solely on immigration status.

4. Canada moving toward marijuana legalization?
Canada is one step closer to legalizing recreational marijuana nationwide. The House of Commons just voted to lift the prohibition and the bill now heads to the Senate for approval. If approved, Canada would be the first G8 country to legalize the drug nationwide.

5. Pres. Trump wants a "Space Force"
President Donald Trump said in a surprise announcement on Monday that he wants to create a new branch of military service, a Space Force, that Trump said would be "separate but equal" to the Air Force.
