College View Elementary in Denver went on lockdown due to a suspicious party in the building, Denver Public School officials said Monday morning.
College View Elementary is near South Federal Boulevard and West College Avenue.
Early Monday morning, staff members reported that someone claiming to be a volunteer was acting strangely.
The school went on lockdown at 8:15 a.m. and officials called Denver Police.
Police removed the man from the school but said he was not a threat.
Police said the man told them he was there for a volunteer reading program, which the school does have, but he was not familiar with anyone at the school.
The lockdown was lifted 15 minutes later and put on lockout.
