Closing Govnr's Park Tavern holding job fair to find employees new jobs

DENVER — Govnr's Park Tavern may be closing its doors on Nov. 11, but the owners are hoping to place current employees at new restaurants through an in-house job fair Monday.

Prospective employers are welcome to the event, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. to noon, to help find new jobs for Govnr's Park Tavern servers, bartenders, support staff, kitchen managers, kitchen associates, bookkeepers and marketing managers.

Owner Mike Plancarte told staff that Gov’s would close with more than two months of notice so they could find new positions, though almost every employee elected to work until the closing date.

"Placing our employees in jobs is of the utmost importance as we wind down this era,” Plancarte said. “They are an incredibly talented and loyal group of people… Colorado's service industry is exponentially growing and there is a significant deficit of talented workers. Gov's wants to contribute to the burgeoning restaurant community.”

Prospective employers can contact lisa@premierventuresinc.com to secure a spot at the event. RSVPs are due by Thursday.
