WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. – A 12-year-old boy was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash in Wheat Ridge Friday afternoon.
Police say the incident occurred at Wadsworth Boulevard and 3 Acre Lane around 4 p.m. The boy was attempting to cross Wadsworth in heavy traffic when he was struck.
"It appears from all indications that he was crossing against the light," said a Wheat Ridge Police Department spokesperson.

Paramedics rushed to the area, but there was very little they could do. The boy was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle that struck the boy stopped. Police say there are no indications at this time that alcohol or drugs are a factor.
Southbound Wadsworth was closed in the area. Police advised motorists to take alternative routes.
Wheat Ridge P.D. Crash and Traffic Team are handling the investigation.
