LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- Among 18 people arrested over the weekend in Lakewood for drunken driving is Michael Wiley, a seven-time offender.
Lakewood police officials confirmed Wiley's arrest from Saturday night, saying Wiley, 46, drove well over the legal limit after being stopped under the suspicion of drunken driving.
It's not clear whether or not all seven of Wiley's drunken driving arrests were in Colorado, but it's clear if he's found guilty, he'll face felony charges.
Thanks to a law passed in 2015, if Wiley is convicted, he'll be slapped with a hefty fine and prison time.
The law makes a driver's fourth drunk driving offense a felony punishable by up to six years in prison and a $500,000 fine.
The law has come under fire for still allowing drunken drivers to return to the road and giving them too many chances.
