DENVER, Colo. -- Denver Police are on the scene of a carjacking and crash in downtown Denver.
Police said Monday they first received a call about a man threatening people with a knife inside a Burger King restaurant at Colfax and Kalamath.
When officers arrived on scene, police say a woman approached them and told the officers she had just been carjacked.
Police said they tried to follow the suspect, but he struck a police patrol vehicle while fleeing the scene.

The officer in the vehicle was not hurt.
Police tweeted a description of the vehicle the suspect is driving.

They say it is a white Kia Soul with Texas plate GHY9478.
It was last seen going southbound on Kalamath.
The describe the suspect as a Hispanic man, with a buzz cut hairstyle or shaved head.
They believe he is in his thirties.
