LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Police are looking for two men wanted for reportedly attempting to kidnap two boys in Lakewood last month.
Police say the two 11 year olds were sitting on the lawn outside of the Holiday Gardens Apartments at 1301 Pierce St. on May 15 when two men in a white van pulled up.
One of the suspects, who was in the back of the vehicle, slid the van door open and tried to grab the boys, but one of the boys threw a water bottle at the man and hit him before escaping, according to a news release from the Lakewood Police Department.
Police said both suspects appeared to bet twins, of Hispanic origin, with dark curly hair and in their 20’s. The van was describe as having scratches on the side and a sliding door on the right side.
The van also had a darker tint on the widows and bars on the inside of the windows on the back of the van.
Police released a sketch of the suspect who allegedly tried to grab the boys. No other suspect information was provided.
