GREELEY, Colo. – Firefighters found a body inside of a fully engulfed car in Greeley on Wednesday, police said.
The fire happened about 4:15 p.m. in the 13000 block of 29th Street, near an oil site. Workers at the site saw the smoke and thought their equipment might be on fire. When they went to check on the fire, they found the vehicle, fully engulfed in flames, police said.
Police and firefighters responded, and human remains were found in the passenger seat.
A coroner was performing an autopsy on the remains Thursday and the identity and cause of death hasn't been determined yet. Authorities, including the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, are still investigating the death, police said.
