WELD COUNTY, Colo. — Colorado Highway 14 was closed in both directions for hours in Ault after a semi-truck was hit by a train on US 85 just before 7:30 a.m. Thursday.
In a news release, the Ault Police Department said the semi-truck collided with a Union Pacific train. The driver of the semi-truck was taken to Northern Colorado Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.
Ault police and the Union Pacific Railroad are both investigating the crash.
Highway 14 was closed for several hours Thursday after the crash for cleanup and investigation but has since reopened.
