Aurora police asking for witnesses after suspicious fatal car fire on I-225

AURORA, Colo. — Aurora police are asking for the public's help as they piece together what happened before a fatal car fire on the shoulder of Interstate 225.

Police said on Saturday evening, the driver of a blue SUV pulled out of the southbound lanes of I-225 near E. Colfax Avenue, drove onto the shoulder and stopped the car. The car was parked before it caught fire.

Police received a report of a car fire and responded to the scene around 1 a.m. Sunday. After firefighters extinguished the blaze, they found a body inside.

The person has not been identified. This incident is still under investigation.
