WELD COUNTY, Colo. – One adult has died and five other people, including four children, were taken to the hospital after a rollover wreck on Interstate 76 in rural Weld County on Saturday, officials said.

The single-vehicle crash involving a Dodge Caravan happened about 10:30 a.m., in the westbound lanes of the highway northeast of Roggen, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Two adults and four children were riding in the van. A woman in the van suffered a severed arm, officials said, but it was unclear which adult in the van died. The conditions of the other victims have not been released.

Troopers shut down the westbound lanes of the highway as a medical helicopter landed on the road to take victims to the hospital. The names and ages of the victims have not been released.

One lane of the road had been re-opened by 11:30 a.m.
