Adams County judge stabbed in Denver over the weekend

DENVER — An Adams County judge was stabbed over the weekend in Denver.

Denver police said they responded to a stabbing at E. 12th Avenue and Dexter Street on Sunday evening. Police initially said one person was transported to a hospital.

On Monday, Rob McCallum, Colorado judicial spokesman, confirmed that Adams County Magistrate Judge David Blackett was the person stabbed in the incident.

Denver police said they are working to identify a suspect.

Blackett is expected to survive the injuries, police said.
