DENVER – Good morning, everyone! Here’s what you need to know today on Friday, September 1.

1. Authorities continue search for woman and her 1-year-old child
An AMBER Alert was activated Thursday for a missing Commerce City woman and her 1-year-old child. Samantha Adams, 26, was taken from Commerce City Thursday morning by her ex-boyfriend, Venzor-Gonzalez, 22. Officers say the woman and her child, identified as Zahid Adams, are believed to be in danger, as Venzor-Gonzalez is said to be armed and dangerous. More: bit.ly/2eJbEgU

2. Telluride Film Festival gets underway
The 42nd Telluride Film Festival kicks off Friday in Telluride. The festival attracts high-profile guests and goes till Monday.

3. New pop-up dog park opens in Denver
Starting Friday and going through December 31, the north part of Speer Boulevard Park will become a pop-up dog park. The park will be located at Little Raven Street and Speer Boulevard. More: http://bit.ly/2vwENX9

4. Get ready to get A Taste of Colorado
Downtown Denver’s Civic Center Park and the surrounding streets are transforming for the four-day, free admission, music, food, shopping and family-fun festival of the 34th Annual A Taste of Colorado. It opens Friday at 11:30 a.m.

5. Hot for the holiday weekend
