Snow and wind tonight and Saturday morning

DENVER — A spring storm is bringing snow to the Front Range and eastern plains with heavy snow and blizzard conditions over the far eastern plains.

The forecast is calling for about 1 to 3 inches of snow in Denver, with higher amounts in the mountains near Winter Park and on the eastern plains, where wind gusts and blowing snow will be an issue as blizzard conditions develop.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for th northern mountains and also on the plains and along the Palmer Divide. Snow will fall in the mountains, with some slick road conditions The snowfall in the mountains should taper off overnight.

About 3-6 inches of snow is expected on the plains, some areas in Washington and Lincoln counties could get more snow up to 8 inches.

Skies will clear on Saturday, but it will remain chilly with gusty winds and highs in the 40s to low 50s. Dry weather and milder temperatures will return Sunday. Monday will be mild with a few afternoon rain showers.
