1. Today's the big deadline for Amazon HQ2 proposals
Today is the deadline to submit proposals for states who want to see 50,000 new jobs come to the state by way of Amazon's HQ2. Colorado, however, submitted their proposal yesterday: http://bit.ly/2imCYpO
2. Colorado is talking horses and burros
The Bureau of Land Management's National Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board are meeting today in Grand Junction to discuss the pressing challenges of wild horse and burro overpopulation on public lands and the impacts they are having on the range.
3. LoDo streets to close for installation of new water main
Denver Water crews will close 15th Street between Blake and Wazee to install a new water main in the area. The streets will close from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, with intermittent weekend closures possible as well. The project is expected to last until mid-November.
4. Want tougher controls on air pollution?
A public hearing on stronger air pollution standards for oil and gas operations will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, before the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission in Denver, at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, 4300 Cherry Creek Drive South.
5. Warm weather continues for Colorado
Warm and dry conditions will continue across Colorado for two more days, with Thursday's high temperatures in the 70s across the metro area and northeastern Colorado.
